Gatewayhilltowns

The real British way of life

Welcome to Gatewayhilltowns!

We are Arthur and Eleanor Davies. Imagine a typical English couple – yes, with a penchant for tea and debating the weather! – but with a double passion: our incredible island, the UK, from every angle, and exploring the wide world beyond our white cliffs.

For years, we’ve wandered the hidden paths of the Lake District, unearthed the warmest pubs in Yorkshire villages, vibrated to the rhythm of London and Manchester, and shared countless scones (with cream first, of course!).

But our curiosity didn’t stop there. We also filled our passports with stamps, discovering the wonders of the globe from our British starting point.

The story started

Our mission is twofold

To help you discover the real United Kingdom: the one we live in every day. Forget the tired clichés. We’ll take you behind the scenes, share our local secrets, our favorite itineraries, the little-known gems and the authentic British culture, far beyond Buckingham Palace. We’ll help you plan your trip to the UK as if you were getting advice from friends on the spot.
